The new film will be directed by Tom Harper, and the script will once again be written by Steven Knight. The cast also includes new faces such as Barry Keoghan and Rebecca Ferguson. Rumours point to a possible return of Tom Hardy as Alfie Solomons.

Steven Knight has said the film will show how the characters cope with the challenges that arise in war and chaos. The premiere is expected in 2025.
